36 year old Euan has been playing at the top level in Scotland for 22 years for Western Wildcats Hockey Club.
During this time he has won 15 major domestic trophies and played regularly in Europe and recently in the Euro Hockey League. A former Scottish Internationalist at both indoor and outdoor disciplines.
Euan has bulit on his wealth of experience as a player and has applied this knowledge to develp his hockey coaching, making him one of the leading youth coaches in Scotland. He is level 2 SHU qualified and is nearing completion of his UKCC level 3 coaching award.
A Full-time High Performance Coach at the prestigious Glasgow School of Sports, Euan works with a number of talented youth hockey players, many of whom will and have gone on to represent Scotland at youth, junior and at senior levels.
Euan has also worked with Athens Olympian Graham Dunlop in this time. Leading Players such as Olympian Laura Bartlett and Youth Olympian Kenny Bain have worked with Euan over a number of years in the past.
Euan was the Scottish Hockey Union Girls coach of the year in 2004/5 and the Grass roots coach of the year in 2010/11
24 year old Laura Bartlett is the top Scottish Player having played in the 2008 Beijing Olympics and more recently in the London Olympics where she won a Bronze Medal.
Laura plays for top English side Reading and is an ex pupil of the Glasgow Academy where she was coached by Euan for 3 years.
Laura will provide coaching input to ensure that the very latest coaching techniques are applied during Spider Hockey Coaching delivery.
35 year old Vishal is one of the leading Scottish players in history amassing an incredible 200+ Caps for both Scotland and Great Britian.
A team mate of Euan’s stretching back to Under 12 level, Vishal has been centre to the success of the Western Wildcats over a 10 year spell of dominance. Vishal has recently come back out of retiral after a brief coaching stint as Assistant Coach to the Full Scotland squad. Vishal has also beem temporary coach of the West of Scotland Institute of Sports and has coached West Coast Western Ladies.
Vishal will be coaching at the Spider Hockey Camps when his National Hockey Team commitments allow him to.
Gal’s training includes four year of physiotherapy in Enschede, Holland and extensive post graduate studies in neuro-muscular-skeletal and manipulative physiotherapy at Glasgow Caledonain University. He has an additional understanding of sport through being a competitive swimmer and a qualified swimming coach.
Sport has been fundamental part og Gal’s life. Being deeply involved in competitive swimming and coaching he developed an understanding of sport physiotherapy and uses unique treatment approaches for all professional and amateur sports levels. Gal believes in the need for an extensive scope of practice and substantial continual education.
This is in order to be able to respond to a growing need for physiotherapists, who can deal effectively with the complexity of spinal and peripheral complaints.
Kevin Watson is the Full time Strength and Conditioning High Performance Coach at Glasgow School of Sport. A colleague of Euan’s, Kevin is a graduate from Strathclyde University with a degree in Sports and Exercise Science.
As a former internatinal rower kevin has gained alot of experience and consequently has developed an understanding of the importance of having a good diet and healthy life style. This is an absolutely essential ingredient for any aspiring young sports person to reach the top. Kevin is an expert in writing fitness programmes and these are put into practise daily across the 5 sports at Glasgow School of Sport, Hockey being one of them.
Kevin is also invloved in fitness testing and he also tutors at Sports First Aid courses and Strength and Conditioning courses. Kevin is the ower of Oarsome Sport and Futness who Spider Hockey Coaching has teamed up with.
