Here is a recap of our 2019 fundraising campaign
Spider Hockey is delighted to be fundraising for AngelmanUK (previously ASSERT) community.
For every registration to Spider Hockey in 2019, £1 will be donated to this wonderful charity.
Message from Spider Hockey owner Euan Miller:
AngelmanUK is a United Kingdom based support group for those affected by the rare genetic condition Angelman Syndrome (AS) A diagnosis of AS with have life changing consequences and we are there to help families cope. We also advise medical and care professionals dealing with this rare condition.
Why AngelmanUK?
2 of my dearest friends Felicity and Dean Moy have a wonderful daughter called Ruby who has been diagnosed with Angelman Syndrome. They work tirelessly to ensure that Ruby has as ” normal” as life as possible. Ruby recently hit a huge milestone in that she recently made her first steps. Donations to the charity which is run by volunteers can assist and support families like the Moy’s affected by this condition.

Euan’s 100mile Ultra Marathon Race
On a personal level I will be fundraising for AngelmanUK by running a 100 mile Ultra Marathon across the Pennine Way on the 22nd/23rd of June 2019. The race includes climbing the Yorkshire 3 peaks and the race has a time limit of 35 hours. Although I was a Scottish Hockey Internationalist 15-20 years ago this is a bit out of my comfort zone. As a back up plan should I not manage the run, I will be running the Glenmore 24 in September in my quest to hit the 100 mile mark
